the past few months have been a little crazy around here, ashley and I have been busy little bee’s working with new & repeat clients. time sure does fly when your having fun!
one of my recent projects is a complete home remodel located in mt. holly. my client Beth contacted me this summer in desperate need of help with her 1960’s ranch. she wanted an updated look which included opening up some walls & gutting the bathrooms. I was game for the challenge and with my contractors on hand we have done some serious work to this outdated home. and yes, I said WE, as I have got down & dirty with them to make sure my client’s expectations are met 🙂
we are getting close to wrapping this project up and I am getting excited for install day & the big reveal, but first, I want to show you where we started and what my vision was for this project..
the kitchen was completely out dated with old wood cabinets, worn linoleum floors & green countertops. the space was also very cramped and dark.. Beth wanted to open up the wall to the front den to let more light in. since this is load bearing wall, I suggested we just cut an opening that would allow for a walk-thru & still let the extra light in. I also planned to paint her cabinets, update the hardware, have new quartz countertops installed, along with new flooring. the color palette will be neutral with earthy tones and pops of color in the soft goods…
Beth also wanted to incorporate an island somewhere, somehow in this space..
I decided that a banquette would be a good option for dining in this space, it would anchor the new island & the cutout wall that leads you into the front den..
the living room really only needed new furniture & accents to get it updated. with some new paint & styling in their current bookshelves it will look like a totally different space.
the front den is up next… Beth wanted a place to sit & read as well as do any work in an office type set up, her last request was to have something cool for her cats to play in, thus getting rid of the cat towers sitting around here. I suggested a large built-in cabinet system on the back wall that would incorporate a desk space, storage, filing, printer set up and allow for hidden cat compartments for litter, storage & food.
the master & guest bedrooms will get a facelift with a new headboard, bedding, and lighting as well as window treatments.
the hall bath has been a total gut job. we have installed a new soaking tub, new custom vanity & storage cabinet, new tile surround in the shower, flooring & counter top as well as the fixtures & lighting, all new….
….there are some other neat details going in here but I can’t give away everything!
the guest bathroom was also overhauled.. the old vanity was torn out and all of the wallpaper was removed. after multiple skim coats of mud we have finally got the walls in here smoothed out. this bathroom is getting a new vanity cabinet, sink & faucet, a new toilet, flooring & other surprises!
this has been an extensive project, and I can’t wait to get all the pretty stuff installed. the before & after pictures will be amazing, so be sure to check back for
the reveal on this remodel!!
