back before the holidays kicked up, I installed & finished off several rooms for different clients, had Ashley photograph them and then the madness started. Thanksgiving came & went, then we were all traveling for Christmas, came back to work for a few days and played catch up & before we all knew it, 2015 was here whether we liked it or not. the last couple of months have been a blur, well the entire year of 2014 seems like it was for me. needless to say, all of those said installs have yet to be featured so get ready, I am excited to show you all what we have been up to lately……
first up is the guest room in the o’neal’s home…. one of my absolute favorite spaces. I love a swanky bedroom and that is just what Lisa wanted for this space, a hotel feel to what can be an otherwise uncomfortable room when you are a guest in someone else’s home. the room was a blank space with only a bed on a metal frame and a random table & lamp.
I definitely wanted to make this room feel special when you walk in. I also wanted it to feel larger than it is, so we decided on a trellis style wallpaper for the feature wall where the bed would sit. this would immediately take your eye up. we chose mismatched night stands with large matching mirrors hung above to bounce the light around. matching lamps also added some much needed ambient lighting to the space. Lisa also wanted a sitting area and an extra chest for guests to keep their belongings….. let’s see how the space turned out.
I think both Lisa and I are in love with this room still! I can’t wait until her mom comes back in town to stay and to see the end result of ‘her’ room! (she was visiting from California when we first started this space, so I will be anxious to hear how she likes it in the end….) stay tuned for more projects in the o’neal’s home!
until next time…… design swell. live well.
