the next project I want to feature is the Pack family game room, er, man cave as I prefer it… the space above their detached garage was completely unfinished, and was being used for storage… Amy’s son would go up there and play ping pong occasionally but thats about all the action this space got. the family really wanted to invest in a pool table and have a space where everyone could hang out & watch sports, play pool, darts, etc.
my vision for this space was to have different areas but an overall cohesive feel. I wanted to have an area for eating, watching TV, the pool area, and a bench seat for on-lookers. Amy and I agreed on a rustic feel complete with worn wood
and pops of red.
I started from bare bones and acted as the contractor for this job. we needed everything from electrical, HVAC, insulation, to drywall and a carpenter..
once the design was in place, I was able to get all of my subs on board to get started. I had my carpenter custom mix a stain color for all of the rustic wood that would match the flooring. he also started on the custom storage towers and window box seat.. the electrician started roughing in the new recessed lighting and receptacles that were needed. and slowly the room started coming together….
take a look at my journey from studs to stunning! 🙂
it was a long process and a lot of work on everyone’s part to get this space finished, but in the end it was worth it and I love the way it turned out!
what a super cool hang out space!
stay tuned for more projects at the Pack residence! I can’t wait!
design swell. live well.
