the master bedroom in my house has been done for a while now, I was just waiting on a few final touches before getting ashley over for the pictures! we’ve been in our house 3 years in november and its always fun designing new spaces, but I wanted to live in our house for a while and figure out what I wanted to do. my husband is also mr. frugal so getting him on board is always tricky… lately I’ve just decided that its better to ask for forgiveness and not permission when its time for me to design & install spaces in my own home… within reason of course, I don’t want to push his buttons too far 🙂 ha ha
I always loved the outcome of the Drummond master bedroom so that was my inspiration for my own retreat. i love teal and chartreuse together and adding in some grey & black really give the space some dimension.. lets take a look at the room before it became ours…. the previous homeowners were an elderly couple, however I still can’t figure out why they would set up the furniture this way… my guess is because they had too many pieces in here
the first thing I did was take down all of the window treatments these folks left for us… and donated everything.. the next thing was to give the room some interest with the applied molding & a new paint color. by positioning the bed in front of the windows this opened up the room and provides a focal point when you walk into the room. I love how cozy it is in here. lets look at some more details!
i love the detail on these dressers!! lime washed oak with faux bone inlay
up next is my office space…
stay tuned for more on my house!
