On the boards…. an eclectic nursery

I have been busy busy this week with lots of new clients and referrals that I thought I would take a break and make an appearance on the ole’ blog.

I am gearing up for an install later this week that I wanted to share with everyone… I have been working with my sweet client, Ellen Harris for a few months now, trying to get all of the details nailed down to make sure she gets the nursery that fits with her style and flows with the other kids rooms as well.

After many rug samples, a visit to the showroom together, and knowing she either wanted an American or European made crib, I think we had a starting point….

We decided to keep some of her existing furniture to keep costs down, but paint them to make them feel fresh & new. We painted the dresser a bright pink which will be a focal point when you walk in the room, the platform bed (which will double as mom’s sleeping quarters in the middle of the night) and her glider got a fresh coat of white lacquer paint. Instead of using a lot of art in the room, we are going to do a book wall that will act as “art” with all of the brightly colored book covers. I have always loved the Designer’s Guild “boqueria” fabric, and I knew we had to use this in her nursery. It is so whimsical and has that eclectic vibe she wanted. It will also be a nice change next to all of the color pops we will have going on..

Take a peek at some of the details!

Install day is well worth the wait!!
…there is nothing like seeing the look on the client’s face when they come in to see their newly redesigned space.

Check back at the end of the week for those before & after pics that will just amaze you!!
