yes! you should hire an Interior Designer!

it is thought that hiring an interior designer is a luxury and only wealthy people can afford these services. well i am here to tell you that is not true. sure, there are designers out there that do charge an arm & a leg for what they offer, but finding one that will work with any budget is a good start for you.

i recently had a repeat client come to me asking for help with her guest room  (it is small & doesn’t need much)…. she told me she started working on it herself, and just can’t do it – she doesn’t have the time.  i was happy to help and whipped out a few options in a couple of days… met with her, she loved everything, and she pulled the trigger that day and everything is on order. our install is set for the end of the month… what a breeze!!

yes! it can be that easy. hiring a designer can save you a big headache and finding one that you are comfortable with is a key part of the whole process. i want to help ease your mind and show you some other reasons to hire a professional…

TIME & MONEY
let me save you some time by coming up with a complete design plan. one that is cohesive and flows with the rest of your home. don’t waste your money by buying pieces that jump out at you in a store that say “buy me!” because it is most likely that you will get the piece home and a.) not like it in your space, b.) realize that the size & scale is off c.) see that it doesn’t really “go” with anything else you already have.  i’m sorry, but the word eclectic only goes so far before your space will look like a hodge-podge mess, so save yourself some time & money and let me help you!

QUALITY
yes, buying a piece of furniture through an interior designer is an investment and something you will have for a long time to come. wouldn’t you rather have something that is going to last you 10-15 years down the road, like a sofa for example?  i am currently working on a playroom for a family in myers park and my client has been on the fence about investing in a nice sofa or getting something cheap that can be replaced  down the road.  (this is a decision you have to make on your own & if you have a low budget, sure, you may have to go with something cheaper that you will most likely replace in a few years)… but my point is, my client went to a local store and plopped down on a sofa to try it out, and she was in disgust with the comfort level and quality of the item. so, let me show you something that is of higher quality and will last you for a while.

RESOURCES
designers usually have an extensive list of vendors they use to pull resources from. good designers attend furniture markets and are constantly seeking new vendors so that not all pieces look the same. also, our resources are endless when it comes to fabric, furniture and accessories, thanks to local showrooms that we frequent.

PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT
interior design is a vocation, not a hobby.  there are good designers out there, however, keep in mind that many have not been trained or been to school for the profession. this could or could not be a deal breaker for you, but a trained professional knows all of the in and outs when it comes to building codes, historical styles, and even reading a floor plan.

a designer can give you a professional assessment of your home and give you a solid plan of action to build from. they also offer an extra set of eyes that are trained to notice things you may not see.

BUDGETING & PLANNING
a designer can keep you on budget, and will do all of the researching for you.  interior designers usually have a team of people that will help put the design plan into action. they have good painters, wallpaper installers and contractors that they use and are comfortable with.

so why should you hire evaru for your design needs??

but don’t take our word for it…here are a couple referrals from our clients…

“My third pregnancy was a busy time for our family, and even though I had design ideas, I didn’t have time to turn my junk room into a nursery. Lindsey at Evaru helped me come up with a beautiful design, and even better, handled all aspects of the installation — including custom fabrics and curtains, re-upholstery, repainting several pieces I owned, ordering new items, and finding items that were available to the trade only. She handled all the little details, was reasonably priced, and completed the work very quickly. She was warm and positive and I was always happy to have her in my home. I highly recommend Evaru and will use them again for future projects.” – Ellen Harris

“I recently worked with Ashley Delapp to transform a boring room into a fabulous family room /home theatre. Ashley listened closely to my wishes, needs and concerns about the room and created a vibrant, fun, comfortable and cozy room that is now our favorite room in the house. She did all the things we hoped for and then added the color and coordination to make it a room that is just fantastic.
I will definitely work with Ashley and Evaru Design for my next project.”
