now that my dear friend christina is back from the beach, and she’s seen her room, i can share my latest install with all of you. last month, i received an email from her husband michael asking if i could help him surprise christina with a master bed and bath makeover. her birthday is in early june and he wanted to do this for her while she was out of town. so…while she was at the beach during spring break last week, i headed to hickory with my installer, sneaky!

michael sent me photos and measurements, and i came up with the design concept. armed with the facts that christina had been wanting an upholstered headboard, and knowing that she likes blues and greens, it wasn’t hard to pull together a palette of soothing blues with shades of mint and turquoise. she also loves chevron and had just picked up these amazing robert abbey lamps.

i’ve known christina since the first day of high school and consider her one of my closest friends. i was SO excited to help michael pull this off, i can’t think of anyone more deserving, xoxo! design swell. live well.
