ah, this install has been much anticipated by my client as well as myself.  you may remember my previous post where i described how this design was inspired by this fabulous clutch by henri bendel. when i started, this room wasn’t so fabulous. there was nothing special about it; there wasn’t even flooring. an oversized ceiling fan really weighed down the 8′ tall ceilings.

so where to begin?
i chose a super rich, dark paint color that mimics the iconic bendel palette.

the room needed some architectural interest, so i thought the best solution was to add some moulding to the only uninterrupted wall.  it created the perfect backdrop for the custom bed and killer mid-century lamps.

the room came to life from the use of new and vintage pieces. i found the chest and dresser from one of my favorite sources, had them spray lacquered a creamy white and added awesome new hardware.
i am crazy for the circular motif!

since there was only a sub-floor in the room, we installed a neutral broadloom carpet and added the perfect rug to define the bed area. the rug combines all the colors of the room and is the perfect complement to the ‘black fox’ walls.

to tie in the classic bendel stripes, i found these stunning side tables. i just changed out the hardware to something more appropriate for the room.
i snagged the last pair on earth (sorry, they’re no longer available).

one of my favorite things in any project, the lighting! the perfect opportunity to bring in more brass elements and the small pop of red i was looking for!

can we talk about how amazing the panels are??? my seamstress karen did a fabulous job carrying out my vision for the window treatments. they are stunning and make the exact statement i wanted.
