upholstered headboards are all the rage these days, and with good reason. you can have practically ANY shape imaginable, with nailheads or without, tufted or smooth, wings or wingless, i could go on…
however, sometimes, i like to try and do something different and break out of the headboard monotony. i’ve been contacted by several people on houzz.com asking where i got my bamboo headboards that are in my guest room. i’m happy to tell them, they’re vintage and then i go about explaining how they might find their own treasures. so today, i’m going to blog about the wonderful option of faux bamboo chippendale style headboards. whether you buy new reproduction or vintage and have it lacquered like i did, i promise you, you will NOT be sorry.
up first, two stunning options from david francis furniture, via one kings lane.
this greek key/faux bamboo combination is to die for! i’d have to lacquer it in a color, orange perhaps or maybe kelly green? these next two are courtesy of ebay. they always have tons of options available.
i LOVE this beauty from palm beach regency, definitely check out their site for lots of hollywood regency goodies!
i would definitely change the color of this, but isn’t that fretwork gorgeous? this is available from circa who? another great online resource for chippendale pieces.
while researching for this post, i came across a set of twin headboards on ebay that are IDENTICAL to mine. at $299 for the PAIR, they’re a definite steal! get them here!
that’s just a small sampling of what’s out there. i make my regular rounds searching craig’s list, etsy, ebay, and local shops always on the look out for these finds. they are one-of-a-kind pieces that can bring tons of character to your home.
design swell! live well!
