I recently finished up an install for my client’s Kristina & Adam but have been so busy & pulled in many different directions that I just have not had time to showcase this project! So let’s jump right in this morning…..
Kristina found us on Houzz and was immediately drawn to our versatile design styles. She needed help finishing off the downstairs living/kitchen open concept and after many trips to home goods buying & returning items, she finally reached out to us for help.
The living room was pretty much a blank slate with the exception of a pair of arm chairs the couple just invested in. Their previous sectional sofa was too big for the space and was a dark brown leather, which brings me to one of the challenges; lighten & brighten! Laying out the room was another challenge the couple had. They wanted to incorporate more furniture but with the fireplace being in the corner of the room, they weren’t sure how to make it work….
So, I proposed a new sofa at 96″ long in an antique strie velvet, deep enough for Adam who is tall and also comfy for Kristina who likes to curl up… I also showed them a funky wing back chair in a taupy-gray leather as an accent piece in the room. My plan to incorporate all of these furniture pieces worked nicely despite the odd shape of the room. Take a look at my design concept:
After much debate over the TV, the couple decided they wanted to keep it in its existing location over the fireplace. We kept their console in the niche and are currently waiting for a WOW art piece to arrive..
Before, the room was dark and unfinished, let’s see how I left it …..
I enjoyed working with Kristina & Adam, their spaces turned out great! Even Ashley said it looked like a furniture showroom! Thanks for the compliment Ash 🙂
Up next for these guys….. a nursery! Yes, their expecting!
Stay tuned for more on that later…
