installed! hertzig family room

i’m excited to share the install of the hertzig’s modern family room!  we had some delays with fabric, then i waited until after the holidays to photograph, but better late than never!   if you remember, i had done two options for the space, you can read about that here.  so which one did she choose?  take a look at the room before, and see where we ended up…

before, the room was dark and completely overwhelmed by a massive sectional.  the goal was to lighten and brighten, utilize another sectional, and include other types of seating.

we lightened the walls using my go-to neutral ‘repose gray’ by sherwin williams.  by using a smaller sectional, i was able to use a pair of chairs to open up the flow while completing the seating arrangement.  i must say, i’m crazy about the chairs.  i chose to do a contrast welt and WOW do these look good!

we kept the existing coffee table, but replaced everything else.  i chose a funky sculpture sitting on a textured tray as the centerpiece.  i love how the swirl pattern of the rug is visible through the glass top table.

i was excited to use two of my favorite lulu dk fabrics on this project.  not many people will go the bird route, but i think they are chic and modern.

i love how the room turned out!  of course, my favorite color is green, so that shouldn’t surprise anyone.  the family room completes the first floor of the hertzig’s home.  catch up on the foyer, dining room and office.  i love working with kerri and i hope the hertzig’s enjoy their home for years to come!

the playroom reveal is coming up next, so stay tuned!
design swell.  live well.
