as promised, it’s time to reveal the playroom for the hertzig twins! mom kerri wanted a place for homework and an open space for play. this room came together quickly with some custom elements and fun touches. take a look…
this piece of art was the inspiration for the room. lots of blues and greens with some black thrown in. to balance the strong colors, we painted the walls ‘alabaster’ by sherwin williams. it’s the perfect creamy white backdrop.
to add some interest to the tall ceilings, i chose this sanderson splatter wallpaper.
instead of a traditional pin board, i opted for a magnetic board wrapped in a fun fabric. now the kids have a place to display their art and personalize their work space.
luckily, i was there when the twins came home from school! they were so excited to get in their new room and do homework at their desks for the first time. it was so cute seeing their reaction, they both got a kick out of the furry sheepskins draped over their desk chairs! designing for kids is such a joy, the look on their faces is priceless.
until next time, design swell. live well.
