this was one of the last rooms left to design in the hertzig’s home, a bedroom of their daughter who is an avid swimmer! her existing room had lavender walls, pastel bedding and she wanted a totally different look, more sophisticated but not too girly.
i love to layer rugs on top of broadloom carpet. it helps to define the space, and adds interest to an otherwise blah surface. i chose to use black accents in the room to avoid it looking too ‘sweet’ and this rug was the perfect fit.
we painted the walls in benjamin moore classic gray to lighten up the room and neutralize the walls. i threw in some fun accents like the furry bench and starburst above her bed.
this was a fun makeover for me, and she was super excited with the result! that’s what makes it all worth it! design swell. live well!
