oh my goodness, i can hardly contain my excitement! it’s time for the one room challenge again, hosted by linda from blog ‘calling it home’. for those of you new to this, the ORC is a 6-week challenge to finish one room in your home. linda invites 20 designers to transform a room from start to finish, and each wednesday they blog about their progress. on the last week, all the finished rooms are revealed! she offers a guest linking event each thursday that i love being a part of. this will be my third ORC to date; it’s loads of fun and a great place to park yourself each week to see what we’re all up to!
i didn’t participate in the spring challenge and i was bummed (it’s kind of addicting), so i’m super happy to be back for this round. my project for the next 6 weeks will be my long-awaited, never-had-before, dressing-room of a master closet!
this art print from etsy is my inspiration for the room. i love the mix of colors and patterns. no design of mine would be complete without a dose of bold color, and i’m incorporating a few shades from mr. elephant in my closet.
you may remember from my last ORC from fall 2014, we built a wall to divide a really long room into two spaces; a master lounge and a future walk-in closet. yes, it’s been a year, but at least it’s finally happening!
the room is a blank slate, the ‘new’ wall is still unprimed and unpainted. luckily, it won’t stay like this forever. i’ve got a plan. take a look at all four walls…
here’s a little peek at what’s coming. make sure to come back next thursday to check on my progress, and check out ‘calling it home’ to see what everyone else has planned!
design swell. live well.
