so, what to do to fill some wall space when you really don’t want a canvas on the wall…
everyone has seen plates installed on a wall before, and today i added some to my client danielle moskal’s dining room. it’s a very easy process, just takes some time and a little bit of patience!
of course, i didn’t want to go the traditional route, no round plates here! i used these great ginkgo leaf plates from crate and barrel.
the first step, create the layout you want to use. i printed out a picture of my pattern and then numbered each plate. trust me, you will be happy you did.
using simple d-hooks and epoxy adhesive, attach the hardware to the backs of the plates. make sure you hang the hooks in the correct place so that your plates hang in the direction you want them to.
don’t forget your pattern when you go to install. this took me less than 30 minutes to hang all 15 plates.
and there you have it. an interesting art installation that was easy, affordable and makes a great statement. danielle really loved the end result!
i’ll be back in full blog mode next week. lots of pictures to share and installs coming up. have a wonderful weekend everyone!
