my clients debra and kelly hyde wanted to transform their home from dark, looming colors, to a fresh coastal inspired palette.
the first priority, the dining room guests see as soon as they enter the home.
if you remember, the room had some good features, but the walls were burgundy and the furniture was really heavy and masculine.
so…what to do? i was inspired by the hyde’s love of blues and greens. i wanted to go with a fresh shade of green and landed on this soft jade; ‘restful’ by sherwin williams.
i love the look of window panels that match, or almost match, the wall color.
it makes a subtle statement and still makes the room look finished.
add a couple supporting fabrics to tie the scheme together and bring the room to life…
before we get to the good stuff, let’s take another look at the original design board for the hyde’s dining room…
and the ‘after;’ a far cry from where this room began!
once again, i have to thank our amazing team of subs! the custom dining table and console turned out perfectly. we pulled this room together just in time for holiday entertaining. i’m sure debra and kelly will enjoy this room for years to come!
